Sandra King has over three years of design experience. She is a Certified Interior
Decorator and an Affiliate Interior Designer with the National Interior Design
Society. She received her Interior Decorating degree from Penn Foster, and graduated
at the top of her studies. Sandra also earned a four-year B.S. degree in Business
Administration from North Carolina Central University.
Sandra always had a love for decorating and making people happy. When asked by an
elementary teacher as to what she wanted to be when she grew up, her response was
to be a teacher, a business person, and an interior decorator. Well, according to an old
adage, 'be careful of what you pray for, you just might get it'. As an adult, Sandra
has had an opportunity to achieve all three goals. For a while, she was a Language
Arts Tutor, and for 23 years, worked for 'Corporate America'. Interior designing is by
far the most rewarding. She has a true love for it, and loves to see the excitement and
joy on the faces of her satisfied clients.
In June, 2008, Sandra was part of a design team charged with designing and staging a
Designer Showcase House in Croasdaile Farms, which is located in Durham, NC. This
event was a benefit for the Duke Children's Hospital. With this project, she designed
two state bedrooms and a game room.
Sandra has written a couple of design articles for Women's Edge, a leading women's
magazine for the RTP area. One article which appeared in the January 2008 issue, is
entitled 'Why Hire an Interiors Designer'. The second article for this publication is
'Backporches', which will be published in a later edition of the magazine. These
